It does not look like an institution at all. You walk into the lobby and there's a concierge there to greet you. They have rooms on either side of main hallway for socializing.

I had always had a negative opinion of assisted living facilities because of horror stories I had heard on the news. My first visit to Sunrise, I was delighted by the elegance and decor in the lobby.

Everyone is very nice, caring, and respectful. It's more appropriate and it's lovely. They have all kinds of activities to do. So far it's the best thing that I've seen, and price-wise too. The staff was very helpful, cheerful, and very accommodating.
All is well since my mother's move to this community. I know she safe and in good hands at this community. I would highly recommend this place, it has worked out well for my family.

The staff at Sunrise of Silver Spring are warm and caring, treating every resident with care and respect, and ensuring privacy for each individual. For added comfort and convenience, several services are provided by staff, including weekly personal laundry service, housekeeping and daily trash removal. Sunrise of Silver Spring is only 15 minutes away from us.
This is a harsh place, especially for people who are there because of a terminal illness. They are not capable of treating patients with care and dignity. The community’s services do not include independent living or skilled nursing care.
